Panama Rainforest Tours
Pipeline Road Tour
This Panama rainforest tour that takes you to the Pipeline Road is really awesome! Pipeline road was built by the United States for the Second World War to transport petroleum from the Pacific to the Atlantic….in the middle of the rainforest….inside a park called Summit National Park. This drive is about 45 minutes from Panama City. The drive to Pipeline Road is just beautiful….and you will get to see the Chagres River and Gatun Lake because this road borders the Panama Canal. The Gamboa area is a birder’s paradise. In Panama we have more species of birds than the United States and Canada together! At Pipeline Road you can walk as long as you want. On this walk we usually see a lot of birds, monkeys, sloths; whatever nature wants to offer you that day. We can walk for about 35 minutes to a place where there are feeders for hummingbirds. You will be able to see a bunch of different species right in front and around you! There is also a beautiful hotel in this area called “Gamboa Rainforest Hotel”. We can stop there on the way back for lunch if you want to.
