Visit El Valle de Antón
El Valle is located on the site of an extinct volcano. The el Valle de Anton tour will show you this beautiful mountain village and the surrounding area and attractions.
This is the largest volcano in Panama in pre-historic times. This fact has endowed this area with hot springs and fertile land ideal for flowers and vegetables.
El Valle is 120 kilometers from Panama City, and the journey takes about an hour and a half up the PanAmerican Highway, on the same road that takes you to some beautiful Pacific beaches.
El Valle enjoys a cool climate year round. This town is a weekend retreat for many wealthy Panamanians, who have built beautiful villas and country homes there.
El Valle is also a land of history and legend. Inhabited for hundreds of years by several Native American tribes, the area is famous for some rare petroglyphs which have not yet been deciphered.
El Valle has lush vegetation, golden frogs, square trees, and beautiful waterfalls.
On weekends, and especially on Sunday, the quite and relaxed El Valle becomes a picturesque country shopping center, celebrating its most popular tradition: The Market. In this event, locals and residents of neighboring towns (including some of the Indians who come down from the mountain) gather to offer an impressive variety of flowers, handicrafts, rattan furniture, fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
There you can probably see one of the famous orchids we have in Panama, which is the “Flower of the Holy Spirit”, a very rare species which is Panama´s National Flower.
El Valle is an awesome town for you to visit!
